80).  St. Mary Lake    Glacier National Park, Montana (July 2009)

I've visited over 200 National Park units (i.e., National Parks, National Monuments, etc.).  But Glacier was one of the very first National Parks I ever visited, when I was seven months old.  I've been to Glacier many times since then, though not for about 10 years.  So in the summer of 2009, I packed up my van and drove to Montana.

I spent three days at Glacier and for the first time, visited the beautiful Waterton National Park in Canada, across the U.S. border from Glacier.  Unfortunately many of the glaciers in Glacier National Park are receding due to global warming and scientists predict they will have largely disappeared within 30 years.  So if you want to see the glaciers there, you better hurry.
