69).  My Father, Donald J. Leu    Bellingham, Washington

I was at my dad's house in Bellingham, Washington in the fall of 2002 getting ready to move back to Portland and go back to work after my 18-month journey, when my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  I decided to stay in Bellingham to help take care of him, but sadly, he passed away a few months later.  My father grew up during the Great Depression, fought in World War II, and then became a leading educational planner in America and overseas.  He was intelligent, modest, compassionate and a real visionary, and we all miss him dearly.
